Celtic Jewelry: Ancient Symbolism In Popular Fashion

The mysterious and the mystical have always had the power to hold human beings in thrall throughout the millennia. Celtic jewelry is no exception to this, since they are an extension and a reminder of the traditions and rituals of the Celts, an ancient European people. Celtic jewelry is where the magic meets with the fashion. I am a lover of this genre of jewelry ad love to collect the innovative ones as much as possible. This passion comes from the ethnicity that this ornament possesses within it is design and materials. They are outstandingly intricate and delicate in their pattern of making and design. It is true that through the passing passage of time this tribe has brought a huge change in their lifestyle. They became familiar with the Bronze Age and they became used to it. Being a collector of such a jewelry zone I know how tough it is to collect such materials and how difficult it is to find a reliable resource to enhance the collection. The Claddagh

Legend has it that the claddagh symbol was originated by Richard Joyce, a Galway seafarer kidnapped by pirates and sol into slavery in North Africa where he learned the art of goldsmithing.

When he was released, nothing could keep him from his beloved Galway where he returned to become a master goldsmith and where he created the Claddagh ring.

For centuries this was used as a wedding ring by the fisher folk of Claddagh village, which nestled outside the walls of Galway city in the west of Ireland.

1/Friendship – by placing the ring anywhere on your right hand.
2/Engagement – by placing the ring on third finger of your left hand with the heart pointing outwards.
