As it seems, spiritual enlightenment is often categorized into levels for practical purposes. Highest stage of spiritual enlightenment marks the attainment of God, but still there are certain levels through which the individual needs to evolve. It is like rising from the levels of animality to which we often tend to degrade ourselves. From the levels of animality, we rise to the level of humanity, which constitutes our true nature. And further from humanity to divinity, where we merge back in the source from where we have come. Let us, for our practical purpose, put them in stages and analyze the state of being in each stage:
At the very first level of spiritual enlightenment, the individual starts experiencing the reality as it is. It means that your mind ceases to interfere with what you are experiencing. Quite often, we are engaged in continuous talk, gossip, analyzing the environment around us, planning about future, and so on. However, when spiritual enlightenment dawns on your being, you take everything as it is.
At the second stage of spiritual enlightenment, you feel yourself in almost everything around you. You feel that you have some connection to every object and every individual in the world. It is like losing your own individuality. Spiritual enlightenment has its culmination at merging the soul in Supreme Soul, and this is where you start experiencing it. You feel that you are not individual anymore and not separate from anything. You feel that you are in everything and everything is just a part of the Supreme Soul from where you also have emerged.
At the third stage of spiritual enlightenment, you no longer feel connected to everything but realize you are everything. Because spiritual enlightenment gives you the experience of oneness with God, you feel that you are not separate from anything. You are not merely the body, sense, mind, and faculty of intellect: you are what everything else is. This stage of spiritual enlightenment imparts the direct experience of oneness.
Spiritual enlightenment is the fruit that sets you free, as you lose all wants and wishes to receive the fruits of your actions. You feel the bliss of completeness through spiritual enlightenment. At first it gives you the feeling that you need “Light”. At the next stage, you feel that you are merging in “Light”. At the culminating stage, you feel that you are no more separated from “Light”—you and “Light” are one.
How Meditation Can Lead You To Spiritual Enlightenment
Have you ever found yourself struggling in meditation? You sit to meditate expecting bliss or enlightenment but instead all you really experience is frustration? That’s because the very attempt to get something out of meditation, blocks you from actually meditating.
Meditation is a bit like gardening, you plant some carrot seeds and then every day you water it, you pull the weeds, you nourish the carrot plant in every way you can. You don’t expect a carrot instantly. But out of love for gardening you do the work without expecting anything in return. And then one day to your surprise,there is the carrot, beautiful, orange and delicious. Same with meditation.
If you commit yourself to meditation without expecting anything in return; If you give yourself to this moment out of the love of giving. Because some days meditation will be challenging, some days meditation will be blissful and some days meditation will be a challenging surrender to the intensity that is here.
But simply by meditating and by nourishing your awareness in every way you can,one day, without even focusing on it, you could be reading a book or walking in the woods and suddenly there is an opening. Suddenly, bliss is radiating freely from your heart.
Enlightenment will happen without you thinking about it. Without you do anything on your part.
It arises on its own, at its own time, yet it arises also because you planted the seed and helped it grow.
And the best way to help your meditation grow into enlightenment is by sitting in the presence of an enlightened teacher, one who has mastered high states of meditation. Such a teacher naturally radiates a bliss(known as shaktipat) that can be felt by others. And so simply by sitting with them, you easily enter deep states of meditation.
But you can experience this same bliss by listening to a very unique Enlightenment CD. Simply by listening to beautiful meditation music, you effortlessly attain deep states of meditation and bliss.

The Archangel List
I have many questions about Archangels and who they are. So this post is dedicated to the names and basic info on some of the most popular Archangels. Over the next few weeks we will name ALL the Archangels and their backgrounds as well as how Archangels are connected to our Chakra’s, which Archangel to call for help, which Archangel is associated with each healing gemstone and many other neat facts about Archangels!
This is NOT a complete list as of yet, as I mentioned there will be more to come!!
What is an Angel?
The word angel is thought to be derived from the Greek word “Angelos” which means “messenger”. In Christian, Muslim, Jewish and other theologies an angel can be one who acts as a messenger, attendant or agent of God.
Throughout the bible it is generally seen that the will of God is usually imparted or carried out by angels.
They are messengers from spirit allowing us a greater understanding and connection to Spirit. The word angel comes from angelos which is the Greek word for messenger. Not only are angels messengers, they are also part of our consciousness, representing realms beyond thought and idea. The human mind needs form, so the Light of Spirit takes on the physical form of an angel, to encourage direct communion with God. We create a dimensional blending that enables them to appear in a form that is acceptable to us.
Though the form of angels changes from culture to culture, almost every culture throughout the world has reports of angels. There are angels in Christian, Judaic and Islamic lore. Angels were reported in ancient Assyrian and Mesopotamian, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism and Taoism. Ancient Greeks called them horae, Vikings called them valkyries, in Persia they were fereshta, to the Hindus they were apsaras and in the African religion of the Yoruba, angels were called orisha. Traditionally in Shamanism (which is the primordial spiritual path of all indigenous people) there are reports of ascending birdlike spirits. These half-bird/half-human spirits are called the bird people or the bird tribes.
Angels are spirits without bodies, who possess superior intelligence, gigantic strength, and surpassing holiness.
Angels are composed of ethereal matter, thus allowing them to take on whichever physical form best suits their immediate needs.
They enjoy an intimate relationship to God as His special adopted children, contemplating, loving, and praising Him in heaven. Some of them are frequently sent as messengers to men from on high.
Angels are the essence of love and joy and stem from the Heart of God/Goddess. From Archangels to your personal guardian angels, right now angels are bridging our physical reality with their pure spiritual energy. The time is right. For within our planetary collective consciousness, we have put out the ‘call’ and the angels have answered in droves. Like a leaf falling softly on the still pool of our consciousness we will recognize their presence. As you trust and open your heart to them, they will pour out their blessings on you. Angels are real! They are a doorway to the divine within yourself. Angels have been waiting for us to be ready and now is the time. Angels are beginning to manifest for humanity. Expect a miracle. Expect an angel.
Archangels
All Archangels end with the “el” suffix. “El” meaning “in God” and the first half of the name meaning what each individual Angel specializes in. Archangels are able to be in many places at one time. You never have to feel that your “problem” isn’t important enough to bother them with. That is what they’re there for, to help you grow *. The most popular Archangels are Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Uriel who are depicted in the Christian Bible.
The Archangels are the captains of all the angelic hosts, having been created as the foremost hierarchs in the angelic kingdom. They are majestic beings who personify divine attributes and are at the service of the mankind of earth. They work tirelessly to defeat evil and promote good. The Archangels have divine complements or twin flames, just as people do. Their feminine counterparts are called Archeiai. (The singular noun is Archeia, and the plural is Archeiai.) Together the Archangels and Archeiai focus the masculine and feminine, or alpha and omega, polarities of the particular color, or ray, of spiritual light on which they serve. Praying to one always invokes the assistance of the other as well.
The Archangels predate us by millions of years and are reported to have been our first teachers on the spiritual path. They are also described as divine architects, whom God uses to draft and execute the plans for his projects. They are cosmic builders and designers in the grandest sense of the word, arcing to our minds the divine blueprint for every endeavor, from the smallest to the greatest.
All of the Archangels are also healers who come as master surgeons to mend our souls and four lower bodies – etheric, mental, emotional and physical. Imagine the power of the Archangels, who for millions of years have done nothing but affirm the reality of God and expand spiritual light in their being. Then when they are in our midst, they minister to us and purify us by transmitting the immense increments of light that they have garnered. Using this boost of energy from the angels properly can help us make much greater progress in our daily life and on the spiritual path.
The Seven Rays of Enlightenment
The most familiar Archangels serve on the seven rays of spiritual light that correspond to the light focused within the seven major chakras in man. I will be doing a post about Archangels and Chakra’s soon…so keep watching our BLOG
Meaning- “Who is like God”, “Like unto God”, “Who is like the Divine”
The first Archangel created by God, Michael is the leader of all the Archangels and is in charge of protection, courage, strength, truth and integrity. Michael protects us physically, emotionally and psychically. He also oversees the lightworker’s life purpose. His chief function is to rid the earth and its inhabitants of the toxins associated with fear. Michael carries a flaming sword that he uses to cut through etheric cords and protects us from Satan and negative entities. When he’s around you may see sparkles or flashes of bright blue or purple light. Call on Michael if you find yourself under psychic attack or if you feel you lack commitment, motivation and dedication to your beliefs, courage, direction, energy, vitality, self-esteem, worthiness. Michael helps us to realize our life’s purpose and he’s invaluable to lightworkers helping with protection, space clearing and spirit releasement.
Michael conquered the fallen Angel Satan, was in the Garden of Eden to teach Adam how to farm and care for his family, spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai and in 1950 he was canonized as Saint Michael, “the patron of Police Officers,” because he helps with heroic deeds and bravery. Michael also has an incredible knack for fixing electrical and mechanical devices, including computers and automobiles. If your automobile breaks down, call on Michael.
Michael helps us to follow our truth without compromising our integrity and helps us to find our true natures and to be faithful to who we really are. Other times when you may find Michael helpful is when your job is too demanding with impossible deadlines to reach, when you have an addiction, if you’re very ill and suffering from a degenerative disease or terminal illness and when you suffer from nightmares
Archangel Chamuel
whose name means “He Who Seeks God” will assist you with seeking inner peace and self-love through your Root or Basic Chakra located at the base of your spine. The life lessons for the Root Chakra are related to the material world, survival, fight of flight.
The Archangel of pure love, Chamuel can lift you from the depths of sorrow and find love in your heart. Chamuel helps us to renew and improve existing relationships as well as finding our soul mates. He works with us to build strong foundations for our relationships (as well as careers) so they’re long-lasting, meaningful and healthy. You’ll know he’s with you when you feel butterflies in your stomach and a pleasant tingling in your body.
If there’s a breakdown of your relationship, if you cling to your relationships and don’t allow your companion the freedom to be able to express themselves freely, call on Chamuel for guidance and support. The other areas you can Chamuel can help is if you need to strengthen a parent-child bond, if you’re unable to feel love for yourself or others, if your heart has hardened and is full of negative emotions, if you have lost someone close through death or separation, if you and your children have experienced a divorce, if your heart is blocked with depression, hopelessness and despair, if you feel lonely and broken hearted, if you need to be loved, if you are judgmental and cynical or if you don’t appreciate the love that you have in your life.
Chamuel can also help with world peace, career, life purpose and finding lost items.
Archangel Ariel
whose name means “Lion of God”, will assist you with relationships with others and with yourself. Relationship harmony begins first with the Self through your Sacral Chakra located just below your navel. The life lessons for the Sacral Chakra are related to sexuality, work, and physical desire.
Ariel means “lion of God” and is often associated with lions. When Ariel is near you, you may begin seeing references to or visions of lions around you. Ariel is also associated with the wind. Found in books of Judaic mysticism and Cabalistic, Ariel works closely with King Solomon in conducting manifestation, spirit releasement and Divine magic.
Ariel also oversees the sprites, the nature Angels associated with water. Ariel is involved with healing and protecting nature, including animals, fish and birds. If you find an injured bird or other wild animal that needs healing, call upon Ariel for help. Ariel also works closely with Raphael to heal animals in need.
Although he is described as a member of the Angelic hierarchy, he is also at times placed among the evil Angels as one of the fallen Angels who are routed by the stern and obedient seraph Abdiel during the war in heaven.
Archangel Uriel
whose name means “Fire of God” of “Light of God” will assist you with self-empowerment, self-control, tact and foresight through your Solar Plexus located just above your navel, the center of your physical universe, the beginning of life as we know it. The life lessons for the Solar Plexus Chakra are related to the ego, personality, self-esteem, and re-claiming your own power to manage yourself in positive ways.
Uriel is considered one of the wisest Archangels because of his intellectual information, practical solutions and creative insight, but he is very subtle. You may not even realize he has answered your prayer until you’ve suddenly come up with a brilliant new idea.
Uriel warned Noah of the impending flood, helped the prophet Ezra to interpret mystical predictions about the coming Messiah and delivered the Cabal to humankind. He also brought the knowledge and practice of alchemy and the ability to manifest from thin air, as well as illuminates situations and gives prophetic information and warnings.
All this considered, Uriel’s area of expertise is divine magic, problem solving, spiritual understanding, studies, alchemy, weather, earth changes and writing. Considered to be the Archangel who helps with earthquakes, floods, fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, natural disaster and earth changes, call on Uriel to avert such events or to heal and recover in their aftermath
In the eighth century, the Christian Church became alarmed at the rampant and excessive zeal with which many of the faithful were revering Angels. For some unknown reason, in 145 A.D. under Pope Zachary, a Roman council ordered seven Angels removed from the ranks of the Church’s recognized Angels, one of them being Uriel.
Archangel Jophiel
whose name means “The Beauty of God” will assist you in healing emotional wounds, seeing past appearances, seeing beauty, and Unconditional Love through your Heart Chakra located in the center of your chest. The life lessons for the Heart Chakra are related to love, forgiveness, compassion, and healing.
Jophiel was the Angel present in the Garden of Eden and later watched over Noah’s sons. The Archangel of art and beauty, he is the patron of artists, helping with artistic projects, thinking beautiful thoughts, to see and appreciate beauty around us. Helping to create beauty at home and at work, Jophiel is the Archangel for interior decorators. He illuminates our creative spark by giving us ideas and energy to carry out artistic ventures. He also helps us to see the beauty in all things, including people.
As well as helping our creativity, Jophiel helps us to slow down and smell the roses. Call on him if you need joy and laughter in your life or if you feel you’ve lost the light in your life. He will also help if your soul is sleeping and needs awakening and if you wish to awaken a deeper understanding of who you are and seeking a connection with the higher self, so that you may take your first steps along your spiritual pathway.
You know Jophiel is at work if you are searching for answers to the questions in your life and wish the greater wisdom to be revealed to you, and all of a sudden you experience flashes of insight in which everything suddenly becomes clear.
Archangel Zadkiel
whose name means “Righteousness of God” will assist you in listening, hearing and beings heard with integrity learning to discernment truth from untruth through your Ear Chakras. The life lessons for the Ear Chakras are related to hearing, being heard, willing to listen with compassion and empathy.
Archangel Zadkiel is one of my favorite archangels because he brings so much joy into my world in the form of the violet flame.
He works on God’s seventh ray which is the ray of light that is violet. This ray is such a high frequency that it literally scrubs us clean on the etheric level of our being.
Our negative thoughts and feelings tie up the energy that God gives us daily, and this can weigh us down. It leaves us feeling dense and unhappy.
However, if we invoke the violet flame using mantras and visualization, it transmutes the bad karma we have made (cleanses us from ‘sin’) leaving us feeling joyful and light.
Zadkiel with his consort Holy Amethyst bring us soul freedom, justice, mercy, and forgiveness.
Have you ever noticed the wonderful joy and happiness you feel when you have truly forgiven someone? This is why Archangel Zadkiel is the bringer of joy. By enabling us to forgive with the help of the violet flame we then become joyful. I know I am certainly so much more joyful now after having given many years of violet flame mantras.
I remember the first week I started using violet flame mantras in the morning, I arrived at work each day grinning from ear to ear! It was such an amazingly happy experience. Archangel Zadkiel and his angels have been diligently dissolving the painful memories and negative traits that I have been holding on to ever since (because I keep asking them to).
You can call to Zadkiel to help you with being more tolerant and diplomatic too. If you are a scientist, engineer, architect, actor or performer he invites you to look to him for inspiration.
Isn’t it painful when you see on the news another war or strife between different ethnic groups? They seem to be held in an endless round of tit-for-tat actions, getting back at their enemies for past atrocities…
Well now you no longer need feel powerless in the face of these situations because you can just send a prayer to Archangel Zadkiel and his bands of violet flame angels. Ask them to dissolve the memories of the difficulties between these people and inspire the peaceful agreements.
You can also ask Zadkiel to inspire the creative negotiation and writing of laws because justice is another interest of his.
Zadkiel and Amethyst have an etheric retreat called the Temple of Purification on the spiritual level above the islands of Cuba. You can ask the violet flame angels to take your soul there while you sleep at night.
Archangel Gabriel
whose name means “Messenger of the Word of God” or “God Is my Strength” will assist you in speaking your truth with clarity, loving kindness, and integrity through your Throat Chakra. The life lessons for the Throat Chakra are related to will, self-expression, speaking one’s truth. It is not always about speaking your truth allowed, it is essential to speak your truth to yourself, accepting who you are.
The only Archangel depicted as female in art and literature, Gabriel is known as the “messenger” Angel and is one of the four Archangels named in Hebrew tradition and is considered one of the two highest-ranking Angels in Judeo-Christian and Islamic religious lore. Apart from Michael, she is the only Angel mentioned by name in the Old Testament. She is a powerful and strong Archangel, and those who call upon her will find themselves pushed into action that leads to beneficial results.
Gabriel can bring messages to you just as she did to Elizabeth and Mary of the impending births of their sons, John the Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth. If you are considering starting a family, Gabriel helps hopeful parents with conception or through the process of adopting a child.
Contact Gabriel if your third eye is closed and your spiritual vision is therefore blocked. If you wish to receive visions of Angelic guidance regarding the direction you are going in. If you wish to receive prophecies of the changes ahead. If you need help in interpreting your dreams and vision.
Gabriel helps anyone whose life purpose involves the arts or communication. She acts as a coach, inspiring and motivating artists, journalist and communicators and helping them to overcome fear and procrastination.
Gabriel also helps us to find our true calling. Ask for Gabriel’s guidance if you have strayed from your soul’s pathway, if you wish to understand your life plan and purpose. She can also help if you can find no reason for being or if changes are ahead and you need guidance. If you are contemplating a house move, major purchase or thinking of changing careers.
Call Gabriel if your body is full of toxins and needs purifying and if your thoughts are impure or negative and need clearing and cleansing. Gabriel is also very helpful for women who have been raped or sexually assaulted and feel dirty as well as being under psychic attack or if you feel that you have absorbed someone else’s problems.
Archangel Raphael
whose name means, “God Heals” will assist you in healing the past, the present, in all directions of time and space through your Third Eye Chakra, allowing you to see your inner core essence of Divinity. Your Third Eye Chakra is located just above your eyebrows in the center of your forehead. The life lessons for the Third Eye Chakra are related to mind, intuition, insight, and wisdom.
Hebrew word rapha means “doctor” or “healer”. Raphael is a powerful healer and assists with all forms of healing – humans and animals. He helps to rapidly heal body, mind and spirit if called upon, as in the biblical story of Abraham and the pain he felt after being circumcised as an adult. You may call upon Raphael in behalf of someone else, but he can’t interfere with that person’s free will. If they refuse spiritual treatment, it can’t be forced.
The chummiest and funniest of all Angels, Raphael is often pictured chatting merrily with mortal beings. He’s very sweet, loving, kind and gentle and you know that he’s around when you see sparkles or flashes of green light.
Part of Raphael’s healing work involves spirit releasement and space clearing. He often works with Michael to exorcise discarnate entities and escort away lower energies from people and places.
As well as a healer, Raphael is known as the “Patron of Travelers” because of his help with Tobias and his travels. Call upon Raphael when you are traveling, to assure safe travel. In addition, he assures that all your transportation, lodging and luggage details go miraculously well. Raphael also helps with inward spiritual journeys, assisting in searches for truth and guidance.
Raphael taught Tobias how to make balms and ointments from a fish which cured Tobias’ father blindness. Raphael can be called upon to help healers such as doctors, therapist and surgeons. Call on Raphael if you’re a student entering the healing field and you’re looking for the right school and/or are in need of help with studies, as well as getting the time and money for school. He also assists with establishing healing practices when your schooling is finished. Raphael not only helps you to heal from physical, emotional and mental pain, he also heals wounds from past lives.
Other areas Raphael helps with is finding lost pets, reducing and eliminating addictions and cravings, clairvoyance, bringing unity to your life, if you feel out of touch with your spirituality, if you’ve lost a partner and/or your soul/body doesn’t feel “whole”.
Archangel Taharial
whose name means “Purity of God” will assist you in opening your Crown Chakra, expanding your Spiritual connection with the Divine Source of All That Is. Your Crown Chakra is located just above the top of your head. The life lessons for the Crown Chakra are related to spirituality, oneness with the Divine, accepting Divine Guidance.
Archangel Raguel
Whose name means - “Friend of God”
Referred to as the Archangel of Justice and Fairness, Raguel oversees all the other Archangels and Angels. He watches over them to make sure they’re working well together in a harmonious and orderly fashion according to Divine order and will.
Raguel is the Archangel for the underdog. Call on him for help when you need to be empowered and respected. He helps to resolve arguments, helps with cooperation and leads to harmony in groups and families. Raguel defends the unfairly treated, and provides support with mediation of disputes.
In the Revelation of John, Raguel is referred to as an assistant to God in the following account: “Then shall He send the Angel Raguel, saying: Go and sound the trumpet for the Angels of cold and snow and ice, and bring together every kind of wrath upon them that stand on the left.”

Many people mistakenly believe that meditation is a passive activity in which a person simply empties their mind of all thoughts, and sits doing nothing but mindless breathing exercises. While this may be how some people practice meditation, it is not meditation in the true sense. Meditation is never a passive activity. Of course, in order to enter a true meditative state, you must quiet your conscious or objective mind, but this is done for a distinct purpose. And, there are techniques which actively quiet the objective mind. These are not used to put a person into a mindless state, however, they are done to help the practitioner contact their higher mind. This is often referred to as entering the silence. However, it is what one does when they enter the silence that determines whether one is meditating, or simply entering a mindless, hypnotic trance.
True meditation happens when we enter the silence and then attempt conscious awareness, without reengaging the objective mind. This is difficult to do. However, there are techniques that even a beginner can use to increase their awareness when they enter the silence, without waking up the objective mind. One good technique is to use a mantra or prayer that is short enough to remember, so that it can be repeated slowly in your mind. For example, if you are a Christian, you could repeat the phrase “no longer I, but Christ who lives within me.” As you repeat the phrase, say each word slowly, trying as best as you can to feel the meaning and significance of each word. Link your mind, or thoughts, to your heart, or emotions. Then, try to visualize what each word means, again linking a feeling to the picture you create in your mind. Don’t worry if you struggle with visualization; many people, (myself included), struggle with it. Do not let that be a barrier, continue practicing visualizing, and linking your thoughts with your feelings.
After you complete your meditation, journal the experience, and reflect on it critically, but without judgment. Ask yourself questions, and see if any insights emerge. Whatever you discover, write them down.
And lastly, be normal. Do not imagine you are special because you are practicing meditation. You are special because you are a child of God, but then again we all are, so that is nothing to boast about. Always approach meditation with a sense of humility, love, gratitude, and praise. If you do this, you will truly meditate and your life will be abundantly blessed.
As you can see, meditation is an active practice, designed to quiet the objective mind, and bring you into contact with the Divine Mind, The Power of the Spirit.

Be Grateful
Life is better when you feel blessed, when you can look around and say “Thank you, God.” Religious or not, when you see life as a wonderful gift, your experience is a richer one than any amount of money can provide. Imagine going through life like you’re a child, and every morning is Christmas.
It’s tempting to think gratitude comes from having what you want. You see yourself giving thanks if you had money, a loving family, and maybe a house on the beach. Still, you know there are ungrateful, unhappy people with these things, and poor people full of gratitude for what little they have. Where does this feeling come from?
Creating Gratitude
Gratitude arises from how you look at things. It is the natural feeling that comes from truly appreciating the people and things in your life. It is also something you can learn.
First, you have to stop and smell the roses. You can’t be thankful for something you don’t notice or enjoy. Roses really do smell great, by the way.
Then, you need to make this appreciative approach to roses and life a habit. There’s no need to ignore the ugliness in the world, but you have to habitually see the beautiful things.
Start writing down every positive thing that happens to you, and all the things you like. Do this until you start automatically seeing the good things in life. If you’ve ever bought a white car, and started seeing white cars all over, you know how awareness can alter your perception of reality. To see wonderful things all over, train yourself to look for them.
When you are in the habit of “counting your blessings,” gratitude, and a much richer experience of life is the natural result.
In its simplest form Prayer is speaking with God/Spirit/Universe and Meditation is listening to God/Spirit/Universe. The Universe works on the principle that you ASK and it is GIVEN. So prayer is a time for asking, whether for yourself or for others. It is also a time for praise & thanksgiving, which is also called appreciation & gratitude. Here you are giving thanks and/or marveling at the wonder of your fabulous life. It is energy directed out of you. You can speak your prayers aloud or silently in your mind. It doesn’t matter to the God/Spirit/Universe.
Meditation is the listening part. You see, G/S/U speaks to us through intuition. We need to have good inner listening, which gets clearer when you meditate. Now, listening is a relatively passive activity and is not embraced nor encouraged by your ego/conscious mind. So the goal is to quiet your mind and get it to go away. You want to empty your mind of thoughts. This is energy directed in you. When your mind is empty, that is when God/Spirit/Universe can speak to you.
So that’s the bare bones of the two. Both expand as your practice them. But here are some suggestions for success in each:
Prayer: Keep a prayer journal. This helps you to see what has come to pass that you have prayed for. If you wrote a list of the 5 favorite things in your life right now, you’d realize they were all prayers of yours, not so long ago. Therefore you know prayers are answered. So will be the ones you are praying now.
Meditation: Set yourself up for success by turning off the TV and the phone first.Find a very comfortable spot and set an alarm that beeps to let you know you are finished.
Exercising and maintaining an attitude of gratitude is one of the most powerful ways to incorporate the Law of Attraction into your life. As we know, the Law of Attraction is a universal law. It can be described in the phrase “like attracts like.” Because of the Law of Attraction, you will attract similar thoughts to the ones that you are thinking. Whether those thoughts are negative or positive, they will attract the same types of thoughts.
The attitude of gratitude seems like such a simple phrase, but the powers that are represented by that simple phrase can bring a multitude of things to the person who knows how to use those powers along with the Law of Attraction. Many times a person will try to use this law to benefit their life. Perhaps they are searching for meaning, or maybe they want to improve their finances. Let’s say this person starts to repeat affirmations aloud every day, twice a day. This person also tries meditation and they might even make a list of goals. But for some reason, this person doesn’t feel as if their efforts are working.
This is where the attitude of gratitude comes in. Sometimes, for different reasons, no matter how much a person tries to do the right things; they still have a negative mindset, even if they repeat positive phrases over and over. No amount of repetition is going to work if you have a negative mindset while doing the repetitions. This is exactly when the attitude of gratitude is needed most. Having an attitude of gratitude puts your mind on a more positive track. The attitude of gratitude gets you into the mindset and frequency that you need in order to receive the things that you are trying to get by using affirmations and meditation.
Even if a person makes a list of goals that they want to accomplish, if they are stuck in a negative mindset, the goals will not end up in them receiving what they want. By implementing an attitude of gratitude, they can break the cycle of negativity and start to operate on a positive vibration that will allow them to turn their desires into a reality.
Examples of ways to incorporate an attitude of gratitude within yourself include expressing gratitude for everything that you have. When you wake up in the morning, express your gratitude. Say thank you out loud for your bed, for your room for the food that you eat, and for the water that comes out of your tap.
Express gratitude for everything that you have, and while you do so, feel the happy and warm feelings that come with having gratitude. This is the way to get on the right track in order for your subconscious mind to be able to receive the things that you have been wanting and trying to receive through other techniques. Utilizing an attitude of gratitude in your daily life is the best way to make sure that you are on the right wavelength to receive everything that the universe sends to you.

It is crucial at the outset of this article to note that yoga is of a spiritual nature and everything in existence is actually spiritual, since it came from the spiritual world originally. Mantra yoga is one of the higher forms of yoga. In fact it is directly associated with the highest form of yoga. I like to begin by dispelling the myth that yoga is merely for physical fitness purposes. Many people get excited when they hear the term yoga because they are familiar with physical yoga. Here, we are referring to the higher forms of yoga such as mantra yoga, which is not physical at all except fort the use of vocal chords.
There are many chants, many mantras, and many forms of yoga. Obviously, we should be most concerned about finding the highest form of yoga and the highest mantras available for the highest purposes. This ensures we get the best results and benefits from our meditation practice. This highest form of yoga is revealed openly in the Bhagavad-Gita, which is the leading doctrine on philosophy, human nature, karma and the origins of all religious principles. The highest form of yoga is known as Bhakti Yoga, and it centrally involves the repetition of the highest mantra, which is known as the maha mantra.
“Maha” means great. And this Great Mantra can be used by anyone at anytime for achieving the ultimate goal of all yoga and meditation, which is oneness with the divine spirit and deliverance from delusion. And, oneness with the ultimate reality. When this mantra is given to those who have not chanted it before it is a special form of yogic initiation. This spiritual initiation is given by the Guru who is merely a teacher. It is literally a gift because after receiving it your life can never be the same. This is so because this initiation purifies all of your chakras, activating the kundalini, for leading you to true happiness and fulfillment in life.

Higher vibrations are more associated with the sublime, the ecstatic, spiritual world and transcendental. The lower or slower vibrating energy is more connected with the lower material energies. Sound energy is so powerful that sound at the right pitch can easily break glass. Sound is a very potent form of energy, and its power is obviously quite useful within the context of mantra yoga.
So the object of mantra yoga is to shift the vibration or frequency of the one chanting so that one takes on the vibration of that which they are chanting. The object further is to change the vibration which naturally attracts like energy through the Law of Attraction. Since everything is really just vibrating energy, our vibration is what determines everything about us and our world what we experience, attract in life and perceive. When our chakras are vibrating at a high rate, we feel happy and energetic and attract similar people and conditions. When they are vibrating slower, we feel low and sluggish and we attract according to the vibration. Mantras can help us control how we feel by accelerating the vibration of the practitioner.
In fact, we use mantras to accelerate the speed of our auras and chakras. This causes us to naturally experience more of whatever the mantra is intended or designed for. The more we chant a given mantra, the more we take on the energy or vibration of that which we are channeling by using the mantra.

Concentrative Meditation Technique is performed by focusing the attention on an image, a sound (mantra chanting) or on the breath. Concentrative meditation technique can be done simply by focusing on the breath; it is a very basic step. It is believed that there is a direct connection between the state of mind and the breath. When an individual gets agitated, frightened, and anxious or distracted, the breath shallows. But, when the mind is focused and calm, then the breath is deep, regular and slow. If an individual focuses on the rhythm of the process of breath intake and out, it gives an object for meditation. When the breath is focused, the mind gets absorbed in the process of breath intake and out. In result, the breathing becomes deep and slow. It makes the mind more alert.
Zen Meditation – Zen Meditation technique is performed by focusing the attention on the feelings and sensations, sounds, thoughts, images and so forth without thinking about these elements. While meditating, there should be no thinking about the worries, images, thoughts, and memories. Zen meditation technique results in a better state of mind that is clear, calm and non-reactive. Zen meditation technique is done by observing sensations and breathes non-judgmentally and very keenly. Zen meditation technique gradually takes an individual to emptiness & stillness, but it takes some time to master this technique. Zen Meditation technique is the easiest and most effective technique.
Japa Meditation – Japa Meditation technique is mainly performed for easing the tensed and stressed life. Japa Meditation results in a peaceful and calm life. Also it evokes the happiness from within an individual’s self. Japa meditation technique involves the God’s name. The mantra chanting can be done softly or an individual may chant the mantra loudly. While sitting in a posture of meditation, the Japa meditation technique can be done in addition ot the worship in group or any other peaceful sitting activities.
Mostly, the Japa Meditation technique is performed counting a bead string that is known as Japa Mala. The Vaishnava devotees mostly chant by using a bead string that is made of Holy Basil (Tulsi). There are 108 beads in a Japa Mala. People also wear the Japa Beads around the neck while some wear them on their wrists.
Chakra Meditation – There are energy focal points in our body that are use by us in a conscious or unconscious state if mind. These energy focal points are called Chakras. The focal points are located in the body parts like head or heart. In the Chaka meditation technique, the different postures are used in order to open the Chakras. The hands are placed in a specific position and the body is relaxed, the eyes are closed; the charka is asked to open. Then it is visualized in the mind that the chakra color emanates and the size of the charka becomes larger. As the color becomes brighter, the color’s warmth is easily felt; also the charka emotions are felt. The body organs are felt filled with light and energy.
Bhuta Shuddi is a form of Chakra Meditation of Yoga and Tantra practice through which the five elements (bhutas) are balanced or purified (shuddhi). Bhuta refers to the past, and shuddhi refers to purifying that past, or the samskaras that operate in conjunction with the five elements. This is a very useful practice, whether you think of it as preparation for kundalini awakening, or simply as a practice for feeling balanced, centered, or tranquil, etc. (One of the two foundations of Yoga is Abhyasa, practices seeking of tranquility; Yoga Sutras 1.12-1.14).
For the Chakra Meditation of Bhuta Shuddhi, it is necessary to understand how the five elements relate to the chakras. The five bhutas are the five elements of earth, water, fire, air, and space, and they operate in conjunction with the lower five chakras (at subtle level they are called tanmatras, which are part of tattvas, or subtle constituents). The sixth chakra is of mind, and is beyond or prior to the bursting forth of space, air, fire, water, and finally earth. Consciousness itself (or whatever you want to call it) is prior to, or the source of manifestation of mind, and is the seventh chakra (surely there are other chakras, including between sixth and seventh, but the bhuta shuddhi practice itself need not focus directly on these).
Transcendental Meditation or yoga nidra (popularized by the Bihar School of Yoga), which owe its origin to ancient Hindu meditative techniques, aim towards a totally detached frame of mind. These forms encourage the practitioner to retreat within the inner-self, into the “real” world, away from the “illusions” (maya) of outside influences. Meditative practices like Mantra yoga, for example, induces the mind to concentrate on a sacred sound by ritualistic chanting, until it attains the trance-like state of samadhi (a state of mind, where it is only responsive to subjective impressions).
Healing Meditation – Healing meditation is practiced after sitting comfortably. It is a belief that the body is filling with light slowly, starting from the feet and then slowly moving upwards. As the light moves up the body, the light is felt like is relaxing the muscles and also the mind. I feel the light moving upwards until my entire body is filled with light and every muscle of my body is feeling relaxed.
Healing meditation calms the mind and gives it a balance state. Healing meditation increases the self esteem and confidence in a person. Healing meditation improve the memory and concentration of the mind. It reduces the tension quickly. It improves the attitude, mood and outlook on life. Healing meditation increases an individual’s problem solving ability.
It is felt like the body of light is radiating the light out from the eyes, the light is shining like a torch is shinning out directly from the eyes. Feel that the soul is directing the light towards the body part that causes discomfort and pain, it represents as a shadow on the body. Imagine like the painful body areas have dark shadows around them. Now feel like you are attracting a healing light to the painful body area, so that the darkness is vanished.

You can be living anywhere on Earth. Just find a quiet place and sit comfortably, on the Earth itself if possible, and close your eyes.
Begin to breathe rhythmically and evenly — meaning that you inhale in the same amount of time that you exhale. Relax, and let your everyday thoughts go. Just simply follow your breath.
In your inner vision, see a beautiful scene from nature. Whatever you see as beautiful, whether it is in the mountains, the desert, the ocean — it doesn’t matter. If it is the mountains, for example, you might see their peaks covered with snow. You might picture rivers, trees, and the animals, and see white, billowing clouds in the sky. Breathe in the clean, fresh mountain air. Do something similar with whatever place you have chosen that is dear to your heart. And in your heart, feel the love that you have for nature and for Mother Earth. Allow this love to become strong until your very body feels this love.
Then take this love that you have for Mother Earth and place it in a little ball — perhaps two inches across — and with your intention send this little ball filled with your love down to the center of the Earth. You send it with the intention that Mother Earth feels the love that you have for Her. And then you wait.
You wait for Mother Earth to send Her love back to you. She always will, as you are Her child. Some people experience it immediately and for others it takes a little while. It is a very real experience. It is not an intellectual thing. It is not you saying to yourself, ”I am now feeling Mother Earth’s love.” When Mother Earth’s love returns to you, it will be as sweet as the time that your own mother looked into your eyes when you were a baby. Feel this love, and let it move all through your body. Let it move through every cell in your body. Let it move even into your Light Body, and all that you are. And for a time — as long as you wish — simply stay in this connected love, with yourself in the arms of the Divine Mother.
When the time seems right, and without breaking the connection with the Divine Mother, turn your attention to the Divine Father, who is the rest of creation other than the Earth.
In your inner vision, see a night sky filled with the multitude of stars of the Milky Way. See the planets, the sun (which would have to be over the horizon), and the moon. See the beauty of Creation, and feel the love that you have for the Divine Father. Allow this love to grow stronger until you are ready to burst with tears of love.
And then, just as with the Mother, gather this love and put it into a little ball, and with your intention send it into the Heavens. Either send it to the sacred grids around the Earth, if you understand them, or send it to the Central Sun, if you understand what that means. Or — which is what most indigenous people do — send it to our own sun. It is your intention that matters. And then you wait.
As with the Mother, you wait until the Father sends His love back to you. He always will, as you are His son. When you feel this love return to you, let it move throughout your body and to all your cells. Let it move even into your Light Body and all that you are. Again, you can stay in this love with the Father as long as you wish.
Realize that at this moment you are in love with the Divine Mother and Father at the same time. This is extremely rare, for a human being to experience this. And realize even further that the Holy Trinity is now being manifest on Earth. The Divine Mother, the Divine Father, and you — the Divine Child — are all bound by Love in a Holy Triangle.
According to Sri Yukteswar, it is only from this sacred place of the Holy Trinity that the Creator can be seen so clearly and experienced so directly.
Now, without breaking the bonds of love between your Divine Parents, simply allow the presence of God to be experienced directly. Allow God to come within your body as well as all around you. What happens now is between you and God. Trust yourself, as you are a Child of God. Believe in yourself, as you are one with the Source.
From this point on, there are no words.

Celebrating Your Baby’s First Noel
If the best gift possible – your new baby — arrived just weeks before Christmas, you’re probably too tired to even think about holiday festivities. But you needn’t let the excitement sap your spirit. Instead, you and your newborn can celebrate her first Noel in one of these three ways that won’t wear you out.
1. Baby’s first tree. Okay, so maybe you won’t be trekking into the wilderness to cut a fresh tree this year. Baby’s first Christmas tree can still be special, and this one won’t break the bank or your back.
Choose an artificial, table-top tree and decorate with baby items. Brightly colored rattles, binkies, and teething rings give a festive touch and can be put to good use later. Top it off with a diaper angel. To make, take a cloth diaper, stuff with a small handful of cotton balls for the head, gather cloth together beneath the head, and tie with a festive bow of green and red curled ribbon. Using a yellow pipe cleaner for the halo, shape a four- to five-inch piece into a circle and poke the remaining straight section through top of diaper fabric, securing to angel.
Once the celebration is over this year, the tiny tree can be the basis for a lifelong family tradition. Put the tree up every year and, as your child grows, let her decide how to decorate it.
2. Wrapped in swaddling clothes. If your church holds a Christmas program or indoor live nativity, volunteer to provide the “babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,” along with Mary and Joseph. A real baby adds depth to your church family’s celebration and will make a memorable experience for your family, too, with little effort required on your part.
Not quite up to going out? Recreate the scene of that very first Christmas on a smaller scale, of course, in your very own home. If possible, have a friend video record or photograph your portrayal to add to baby’s scrapbook.
Keep the spiritual meaning alive every year by making the family nativity a Christmas tradition. Bring the family together at the beginning of the holiday season and watch the video together to set the tone for your holiday celebrations.
3. Enjoy the eve. Spending Christmas Eve together at home allows you to focus on the quieter aspects of the holiday and what really matters. Hang a stocking with care and fill it with an ornament for each member of the family. Put the family stocking at the top of next year’s list of must-do traditions by surprising everyone with an ornament that reflects something you’ve done together during the previous year.
Before heading off to bed, share the Christmas story by candlelight. As Dad reads the story and Mom nurses baby, you’ll experience a special closeness and joy that you’ll want to repeat again and again.
So, if the usual holiday havoc has you thinking your newly expanded family will have to put the celebration on hold, think again. And make your newborn’s first Noel one you’ll all want to remember for years to come.

“Our Cup Runneth Over”
A Thanksgiving Meditation
Text: Psalm 23
Note: For this meditation you will need a large bowl into which you can set a cup (I will use the
Communion Cup as I think it’s a fit symbol of all the good things God gives for which we should
be thankful). During the sermon, I will visibly show the act of a cup overflowing as I share some
of the blessings that God has poured into my life so that my cup runneth over. But I will also
take time in the midst of the sermon to allow each person who desires to also share. After they
do, I will pour more water into the overflowing cup and have everyone say each time, “Our Cup
Runneth Over.”
“Our Cup Runneth Over”
Not long ago I was eating with Debbie in a popular restaurant in Harrisonburg, Virginia, called,
“The Golden Corral.” I had not eaten there in a long time. It has changed a lot – for the better.
There was a line out the door already and it wasn’t even noon. When we finally did get inside
and were seated, the waitress brought us some plates as they served food buffet style. I must say,
I have never seen a larger buffet. There were at least four or five different sections. I had a
terrible time just deciding what I wanted!
Over to the left was all the bread – bread of every kind.
Next to it were the veggies – every veggie you have heard of and some you haven’t.
In the middle were the meats – from fish to roast beef, chicken, you name it.
Beside it were the soups and salads – calm chowder, vegetable, potato, and several others. The
salad bar had everything on it you could possible want.
Then came the dessert section…I can’t even describe all they had there…
Boy, am I getting hungry!
We got our food and went back to the table. I noticed that the line had gotten longer and wasn’t
surprised. That line grew the whole time we were in there.
Then we bowed our heads to say the blessing…
And something happened in my heart…
I’m not sure I can describe it…
That blessing became a lot more than just a mealtime ritual that day. From somewhere in the
depths of my heart I felt this tremendous surge of gratitude, of thanksgiving…It so overwhelmed
me that I felt tears coming into my eyes…
For, you see, the thought came to me that all this food, in such abundance and variety, came from
the good earth God has given to us all. I watched as the line of people got longer, but there was
always more than enough food for all who came…
And the thought came to me that this was but one group of people in one tiny restaurant. There
are thousands of other restaurants also serving food, and what of the millions of homes were day
after day families sit and eat…
I became aware that day as I never have before of just how blessed I was, we all are especially in
this country.
I became aware as if for the first time of what a tremendous gift this land, this planet is for to
us…what physical needs do we have that God does not meet through the resources of this
wondrous planet Earth?
Where did the clothes you are wearing come from?
God’s good earth!
Where did the shelter that covers you and your family, that covers us right now as we worship
come from?
God’s good earth!
Where does the delicious food we will enjoy today and especially on Thanksgiving Day come
from?
God’s good earth!
Where do we get all the resources to make all the many things to help make life easier and better
come from?
God’s good earth!
Where does the air come from that you are breathing right now?
God’s good earth!
And as I thought on all these things that day in that restaurant, the waitress came and filled my
glass of tea, apologizing because she put so much in it that it overflowed. And that’s exactly what
I have felt ever since then – that my cup runneth over with the tremendous blessings of God!
(Pour water into the cup until it overflows)
Surely this is how the Psalmist felt. God had so blessed him, had poured blessing after blessing
into his life that there was not room to contain them all! He sings, “My cup runneth over…”
(Pour more water into the cup)
What of you, my friends? How has God blessed you this past year so that your cup runneth over?

do, I will pour more into this cup, and ask you to join with me in saying,

Because our cup runneth over and we can drink from the saucer, we should remember those
whose cups are empty and have been for a long time. They are not far from us. They may live in
your own community or even be in your own church (maybe your own family). There are
certainly many out there all over the world who have so little. We have so much. Let us find
ways to share the abundance of our blessings with them. That is perhaps one of the best ways we
show our gratitude, for surely our cup runneth over!
